What's Happening
I downloaded the WordPress app for the iPhone and give it a big thumbs up! Now I can post items to the site if I am out and about away from the computer. If you have a WordPress site I highly recommend downloading it to your iPhone.

What's Happening
With the apple iPhone commanding the smartphone market (in my opinion)…I decided it was a good idea to create an custom icon for this site.
A big motivation for this is that I can’t stand it when you come across a website on your iPhone and you decide to create a bookmark on your screen and you get a “chicklet” snapshot of the homepage. Then you end up with a bunch of website snapshot icons that you can tell one from the other. Why should I give up screen real estate to something that looks so hideous compared to the app icons they sit next to.
So I went ahead and created this icon for Designitbetter:

When you navigate to this site on your iPhone and click on the “Add to Home Screen” you will get this nice icon instead of the usual snapshot of the home page.
I’ve also done this for another client of mine FortheLoveofCupcakesVT.com. Here is their icon.

Enjoy.

What's Happening
Welcome to the redesign of Designitbetter. This is actually the third re-design of the site. The first two were traditional HTML sites and while they were good and served their purpose, they became a bit cumbersome when it came time to make any updates. It’s not that it was really difficult but it became tedious and a lot of work even for the simple thing like adding a new logo to the portfolio. So I decided to convert the site to WordPress. I was introduced to WordPress a while ago but always kind of thought of it as a “blog” type website layout. But after some talking to other people and searching on the web, I quickly realized that it was a lot more than that. And after weighing the benefits of converting over I decided to take the plunge.
I liked the look I came up with from my previous design and wanted to keep that same look and feel for the re-design. Here is what the previous design looked like.

While it has taken a bit to set up, customizing layout, now that it is all done it will make updating the site so much easier.
